The Secret :: Uncover the Lies
There was peace once, though by now it is but a distant memory in the minds of those old enough to remember. There was order and cohesion, and nothing to fear. The Keepers of Hesperides stayed within their walled Haven, and none disrupted their peace. There was always a rumor that an object of unspeakable power lay hidden within those great walls, but in time the rumor grew dull with age. But now a young stallion, maddened with greed, is gathering all the information he can about this mysterious object of celestial power. Flanked by the powerful drafts of the northern lands, he is murdering and taking prisoners left and right. There is only a handful of southern herds that stand against him, led by the mysterious Theseus. If they are vanquished, the Keepers will be on their own. Chaos and uncertainty abound. How much longer can the forces of reason hold off this madman?
The board is set, the pieces are in play. Whose side will you join?

The character of the month for December is Ziggurat, played by Spectra!
Ziggurat was crippled by grief and guilt at having witnessed his lead stallion Colateral's death. He went to the Keepers and became one of them to escape the burden of his emotions.
Honourable mention goes to HorseWhisperer's mare Callypso who was beating Zig soundly for most of the duration of the poll!

Peach bucked at GoBoy laughing,and whining while she cantered,stopping suddenly,she sniffed the air,then looked back at GoBoy,with a frown.GoBoy.Your my best friend,but i really like this place...she trailed off to him,now looking back at the vast rolling hills hoping to a sign of the alpha or any other horse that would be there.
GoBoy chuckled chasing peach tossing his black and white head around,he slowed down in seeing her stop,and flickered his black ears.What?he asked her.Oh.Peach,your my best friend too,and if you wanna stay here...then go ahead,don't let anyone stop you,well accept for the beta or alpha.he told her,a slight smile on his face,He moved to her side and nudged her softly,Go On,and..and..find the alpha or beta.he told her,I'll stay at the border in case they tell you no..He knew they would want her in,because she was a sweet mare,and was very beautiful,and was willing to do anything,even fight for the land she called home.So he nudged her again and smiled,letting her know it was OK.
Peach shook her strawberry roan coat,and dug the ground a little.thanks GoBoy.she said looking at him again with a smile,she nudged him back then took off across the hills.She let out whinnie tossing her head around,blue eyes shining,blond mane blowing in the breeze as she did so.Finally she slid to a stop and looked around,ears flickered,then all at once she laid down rolling around in the grass,kicking up grass.She rolled over on her right side and laid there sun bathing for awhile then got up and shook off her coat,and nickered light,bending her head down to graze on the tall green grass,with one care in the world.She flickered her ears at a butterfly that fluttered around where she grazed,lifting her head up a little and reaching her nose out toward it.It landed on her nose,fluttering its blue wings,and crawling up her muzzle.She giggled looking at it cross eyed,then watched it as it flied away.She took a deep breathe then let it out,soaking in all of the suns warmth.

Dusty black mare stumbled unevenly through the shadows of the trees avoiding the wide sun drenched plain to her left though she only saw darkness there she could tell it was open land she knew these hills well.
Woods fell away from her right as Leila saw a pair of horses playing, she stayed by the trees resting her sore foreleg before limping slowly to wards the mare and stallion.Leila held her thin neck low dressed by an untidy mane that hung wavy and matted, forelock swinging between her mismatched eyes and brushing the jagged scar across her misted blue left eye., her barrel was littered with scars, thin and dirty.mismatched eyes surveyed the scene with a blank expression her ears pricked toward them but flickered about searching...
The sun warmed the air while the breeze rocked the purple flowers with the butterflies dancing away,the tall mare looked over to her right at a large hill where she had met friends and lost them again...... always lost them, she found her head snaking to her shoulder to tear at a raw patch that was itching.
Leila nodded kindly to the stallion as the mare was some distance away now. " good day sir, i am Leila, what is you and your friends calling? if i may ask?" her tones were quiet but rough as if she hadn't been talking much recently which was true, then she hadn't been doing much except being in the woods, though maybe she should go down to the sea.
She was brought out of her thoughts by a shadow creeping up,How many times? stop this you managed fine by yourself before and did as you were told earlier, why cant you do that now? The thin feathered mare danced sideways her ears laid back,black eye rolling, she threw her head as her foreleg gave way underneath her, she scrambled to keep her balance and fell on her knees with a thud before lurching uncomfortably to her feet, eyes averted.
