It's sad that Schatten has poofed again, but the silver lining to this cloud is that you, my dear members, get a chance to play the wonderful canon character she had. So it is with a heavy heart that I say: SEND IN YOUR AUDITIONS!
Keep in mind that Atlas is an important character, so you must be able to write decent posts of a good length in order to provide the detail necessary for this character. You can read up on Schatten's portrayal of him in the archive.
Remember, don't send in an epic length audition post if you cannot post that long normally. I want an example of what your regular everyday posts with him would be like. Also, keep in mind quality over quantity, though you need a certain quantity to show effort and creative thought.

Name: Atlas
Named after: Greek Titan who was sentenced to holding up the world.
Age: 6
Breed: Shire
Gender: Stallion
Color: Dark Bay
Markings: He has the typical white stockings and blaze of a shire, as well as many scars.
Appearance: Atlas makes a rather imposing figure in the heat of battle, his black striped white head rising above all others. He is almost black, but has some subtle fading in the areas most common to dark bays; his muzzle is almost entirely brown, as well as his flanks. He is actually a pretty typical Shire; nothing unusual. In fact, if it weren't for his towering height and showcase of scars, you could almost not even notice him in everyday life. However, he changes drastically in battle; his eyes take on a harsh look and his entire form becomes more daunting.

Personality: Atlas isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, shall we say. He is very war-minded, and can make important strategy decisions in a split-second, but he lacks common sense. Tartarus selected him in his youth to lead all the Northern Drafts, a task he was not nearly ready for, and always made sure that he kept the colt in check with his own ideas. As a result, Atlas, even as a grown warrior, is thoroughly brainwashed and can barely rely on his own judgment without first double-checking his opinions with Tartarus. He is not horribly cruel at heart, though he does his best to hide it, he is simply behaving in the way he was brought up to. The rest of the Northern Drafts stay under his lead only because of his towering build and skill at fighting; he could easily take down most any challenger. And it helps that everyone knows that they would have to answer to Tartarus should something happen to his favorite servant.
History: Atlas was a foal of one of the Northern Drafts, who has since perished in war. He led a harsh, if slightly boring, life up in his homeland of the North. Things changed the day Tartarus came, however. The gray one killed the leader of the Dark Brutes, and put Atlas in charge in his stead. Atlas has held a shaky lead ever since; every time the brutes under his control grow mutinous, a new chance to prove himself in war emerges, and they become quietly subservient for a while again.
