The tragedy – their tragedy – choked them; it was like some hellish fog curled around their throats. And then Disruption had come; a prophecy, come to wreck more havoc upon the already ravaged land…but it failed. The three mares faded away like a bad dream, and calmness had come back. True, the other things had lingered still – lovers were still betrayed, mares were still raped, children were still killed. There was no difference there. But there was a serenity that hadn’t been there before. It had taken a while for it to come, yes…but it was worth it. The world seemed clearer now, the screams of the hurt less sharp. The edges had softened.<BR><CENTER><BR>This didn’t make it okay, but it made it better.</center><p align="justify"><font color="0F1549">Slowly, Beqanna was rebuilding itself. The old kings and their queens faded and died, legends said their goodbyes – and new ones came to take their place. New children, ones who hadn’t seen the bloodshed, hadn’t walked the world before it had been gentled. True, there were still elders, ones who had seen what life could do – but every day they grew fewer.
